Biography: Johnny Anzalone
Musical Theatre & Variety
Johnny Anzalone has taught jazz, theatre dance and modern dance in numerous dance schools and universities across the country. In New York City he has been a guest teacher for Lee Theodore’s The American Dancemachine, STEPS on Broadway and The American Theatre Dance Workshop. He acted as associate choreographer for the hit Broadway show, Jekyll and Hyde, which was nominated for an Outer Circle Critic’s award for best choreography in 1997.
His performance credits include the Broadway company of Cats, the national tour of La Cage Aux Folles, the international company of West Side Story, the Broadway workshops of Legs Diamond and Fosse, the American Dancemachine and the Laura Dean Dancers and Musicians. He has completed his Master’s Degree in Performance at NYU’s Gallatin School and is currently teaching dance on faculty with NYU’s Music Performance Department.
Johnny participated in the 2004 workshops offered throughout the province by Dance Manitoba and is looking forward to the chance to work with our province’s dancers once again.
