Biography: Juliana Pulford
National
Juliana Puford is a powerful dancer who exudes character and integrity. She brings to her own performances in flamenco an intensity that captures both the emotive and introspective qualities of this art form.
A long time student of Claudia Carolina, Juliana furthered her studies with La Cintia, La Presy and Soledad Barrio. A member of Theatre Flamenco, she toured Misa Flamenca in both 1999 and 2001. She has produced and staged her own full-length flamenco productions, Un Dia Flamenco (2001) and Luna Flamenca (2003), and most recently Tierra de Luz (2005) a haunting exploration of the works of Garcia Lorca which received critical acclaim.
Juliana has worked as choreographer and dancer with Opera Lyra in their production of Carmen. As well, she has collaborated with artists from other disciplines and dance forms including modern dance, Indian classical, contemporary new music and architecture.
