After graduating from the Senior Professional Program of Contemporary Dancers in 1998, Nicole Langevin Owens began her professional career as an independent dancer, working with choreographer Gaile Petursson-Hiley. Originally working as an independent dancer for Casimiro Nhussi, Nicole is a founding company member of Nafro Dance Productions which completed a performance tour in Maputo, Mozambique, Africa in August 2004. After her experience in Maputo, Nicole has been inspired to use her traditional training in Modern and Jazz and her experience of working with Nafro Dance Productions in the fusion of African and Modern to create a style of her own, breaking the traditional boundaries of such disciplines. Nicole continues to teach and choreograph for the General School and Junior Professional Program of Contemporary Dancers and is a faculty member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Recreational Division, teaching Jazz.
