Biography: Shawna Sloan
Jazz
Born and raised in Campbell River, B.C., Shawna Sloan received her early foundation in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Modern Stage at Danette's School of Dance. Her dedication and talent led her to train extensively from an early age where she received The Banff School of Fine Arts scholarship and numerous Dupree and Tremaine Dance Center scholarships.
At the age of 18, the former B.C. Provincial Winner went on to join twenty other nominees for an intensive year long scholarship program at Tremaine's in Los Angeles, California. Since then, Shawna has gone on to dance for such noted choreographers as Tina Landon, Wade Robson, and Marguerrite Derricks. She has performed with such singing sensations as 'NSYNC', Brittany Spears, Mya and 702. Her credits include the MTV video music awards, various music videos, industrials and commercials. Most recently has enjoyed being assistant choreographer with many great projects including: 'ane’s Addiction Lalapalooza Tour, Young & the Restless, and Strutter (A Femme Fatal Cabaret Show). While continuing to work professionally she also contributes her unique style and talent to students by teaching and choreographing for Tremaine conventions and several studios in both Canada and the United States.
