Every dancer - amateur, emerging or professional - benefits from ongoing training. Workshops are an excellent means for a dancer to expose themselves to different approaches and styles. Whether taking a class in a discipline that is part of the dancer's regular course of study or experiencing a new dance form for the first time, this added knowledge will be reflected in that dancer's own technical and expressive abilities.

Workshops are an important part of Dance Manitoba's programming with classes regularly scheduled during the Provincial Dance Festival and through out the year. Effort has also been made to bring workshops to communities outside of Winnipeg. By organizing workshop opportunities for dancers and teachers, Dance Manitoba provides access for our province's dancers to nationally and internationally recognized dance professionals.

Disciplines presented in workshops have been varied and include African, Ballet, Bollywood, Creative Movement, Hip Hop, Jazz, Middle Eastern Belly Dance, Modern, Musical Theatre, Tap and Ukrainian. Workshops have previously been held in Brandon, Dauphin, Flin Flon, Gillam, Thompson and Winnipeg.

For more information on scheduled workshop opportunities or to discuss the possibility of hosting a class in your community, please contact the office.
